1. Introduction
China Agricultural University (CAU) is a first class public university in the country, and has three subjects listed in the top 10 universities in the world by USNews Best Global Universities Ranking in 2023. The history of CAU can be traced back to the College of Agriculture of the Imperial University of Peking established in 1905.
Over recent years, not only agriculture science related subjects of CAU remain among the top 10 in rankings of QS, US News and ARWU, but also nine subjects, namely Biology, Agricultural Engineering, Food Science and Engineering, Crop Sciences, Agricultural Resources and Environment, Plant Protection, Animal husbandry, Veterinary Medicine, and Agrostology, are classified as National First-class Disciplines. There are 76 undergraduate majors, 33 subjects for Master degrees and 23 subjects for Doctoral degrees. CAU has over 1700 professors, 13000 undergraduate students and 12000 postgraduate students.
Over the recent years, as an effort to open its education resources wider to the outside world, CAU has developed friendly cooperation with more than 200 world universities, research institutions, and international organizations in more than 50 countries. CAU, alongside Cornell University, Wageningen University, University of California, Davis, and University of Sao Paulo, has established the Agrifood 5 Alliance. CAU has also established an Agricultural Education, Science and Technology Innovation League, which includes 40 agricultural and forestry universities in China and 35 international universities. CAU carries out policy dialogues, research, and international development projects with major organizations, including Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, World Food Programme, United Nations Development Program, UN Office for South-South Cooperation, World Bank.etc.
2. Qualification Requirements
(1) Brazilian citizenship with valid ordinary passport of Brazil;
(2) Being physically and mentally healthy, besides attending the requirements of physical examination of Chinese Visa/Residence Permit of China Boarder Control and CAU admission;
(3) No history of violation of public security and the law of any countries;
(4) Complying with Chinese laws and CAU regulations and policy. Respecting to Chinese customs and traditions;
(5) If the previous Bachelor or master programs of applicants is not taught in English, the applicants need to provide the valid TOEFL or IELTS test report. The TOEFL (iBT) score should not be lower than 90 points, and IELTS score not lower than 6.0.
3. Application Materials
(1) The completed APPLICATION FORM (Apply on http://apply.cau.edu.cn choose “China Agricultural University Scholarship”);
(2) Photocopy of applicant's passport (the date of expiration should be later than Oct, 2024);
(3) Notarized degree certificate or pre-graduation certificate;
*Applicants who will graduate before July of 2024 should submit the Expectation Certificate of Graduation. Upon registration, the official documents should be submitted for a review.
(4) Official transcripts, original and duplicated; If it is neither Chinese nor English, notarized Chinese or English version should be provided;
(5) Certificate of English language proficiency;
(6) A report of no criminal records ( issued by the public security department of the local authority );
(7) Recommendation letters from the people with academic titles. There is no specified format for the recommendation letters and all letters must be signed by the referee ;
(8) Study plan in English or Chinese (no less than 1000 words);
(9) Study and/or Work experience (updated to application date);
(10) Form of Physical Examination Record for Foreigners;

(11) Any published academic papers, patents, or other academic achievements (originals or copies).

4. Application Time
Application deadline is 30th May, 2024. (Apply on http://apply.cau.edu.cn choose “China Agricultural University Scholarship”).
5. Review and Examination
The admission committee will review the application and the selected applicants will undertake an interview conducted by the colleges of CAU. The applicants will be informed one week before the interview.
6. Inquiry and Admission Notice
The successful applicants will be admitted after the interviews. Admission Notice, Visa Application Form for Study in China (JW202 Form), and Form of Physical Examination Record for Foreigners will be issued in early July each year. Prior to this, the applicants may check for admission status on the website of Office of International Relations, CAU.
7. Visa Application and Admission Registration
To apply for a student visa (X1 visa), the admitted applicants need to bring their Passport, Admission Notice, Visa Application Form (JW202), and Original copy of Form of Physical Examination Record for Foreigners as well as other original documents of physical examination to the Embassy or Consulate of China. Students also need the documents for admission registration before the deadline indicated on the Admission Notice. The X1 visa holders need to apply for a Residence Permit within 30 days after arrival in China.
8. The CAU Scholarship
An international students admitted in this program will be given:
(1) Tuition waiver;
(2) A free Accommodation on campus;
(3) A stipend with 3000 RMB per month for Master students, and 3500 RMB per month for PhD. students;
(4) International student health care service on campus and international students medical insurance.

Note:All English taught program students are not required to provide Chinese language scores when applying and admission. But the students should reach the International Chinese Language Level -3 upon graduation. The school will provide Chinese language courses during students' learning period.
