II.Background:
China and the Belt and Road countries have been making joint efforts to deepen agricultural cooperation and to broaden various cooperation fields, which not only expands people-to-people exchange but also brings our partnership to a greater level. The Summer School in 2024 includes course learning, campus activities, and a field trip. It is exactly a positive response to the Belt and Road Initiative proposed by President Xi Jinping, toward a high-level global community with a shared future.
III.Why join?
Food security is closely linked to water security, since food production heavily depends on freshwater availability around the world. Climate change, population increase, water resources scarcity, and water quality deteriorationare causing great challenges to food production and threatening water and food security worldwide. Improving agricultural water productivity through integrated measures will be an essential part of solutions.
The knowledge of intelligent use of agricultural water resources and the skills of hydrological modelling will be learned in the course study part. The diversified cultural activities will be attended in the campus of China Agricultural University.
With its lower reachessurrounded by the Badain Jaran and the Tengger deserts, the Shiyang River Basin has suffered from severe drought and desertification over 50 years. We will visit the Experimental Station (National Field Scientific Observation and Research Station on Efficient Water Use of Oasis Agriculture in Wuwei of Gansu Province) where a variety of experiments on water-saving irrigation technologies is being conducted. The field trip included in the Summer School is highly recommended if you want to obtain knowledge on how to save water for agriculture in arid region.

5. Visit Shiyanghe Experimental Station of China Agricultural University (National Field Scientific Observation and Research Station on Efficient Water Use of Oasis Agriculture in Wuwei of Gansu Province) to learn advanced agricultural water-saving technology.
6. Tour of Gulang ecological environment protection area to experience the ecological benefits of agricultural water-saving technology.
For the field trip part, Kazakh students will be accompanied by CAU undergraduate students and African students, which is “1+1+1” pattern.

Inquiry and Admission Notice
Admission results can be queried on the website of the International Office, CAU in early June. The China Agricultural University Admission Notice and Visa Application Form for Foreign Students in China (JW202) will be issued to the applicants respectively.
Application for Visa and Enrollment Registration
Matriculates shall go to Chinese embassy (consulate) at their location to apply for study (X) visa with their ordinary passport, Admission Notice, Visa Application Form for Foreign Students in China (Form JW202), Physical Examination Form for Foreign Nationals and Blood Test Report, before presenting the foregoing materials to the International Office, CAU for enrollment registration at the time specified in the Admission Notice.
