China Agricultural possesses advanced research facilities and rich teaching resources. Foreign students who are willing to take courses or do research at China Agricultural University as a visiting student may apply to Office of International Relations, China Agricultural University. It is suggested that before submitting applications, the applicants ask for advice from their supervisor/tutor in home institution and discuss with relevant department/school of China Agricultural University.
The schooling system for visiting students ranges from 1 semester to 2 years. A non-degree certificate of advanced study will be awarded if the visiting student successfully finishes his/her study at China Agricultural. Official transcripts are also available upon request.
2. Qualification of Applicants
General Visiting Students: at least one year study at college or higher, HSK (Chinese Proficiency Test) Band Four or above.
Senior Visiting Students: Master degree or higher, HSK (Chinese Proficiency Test) Band Four or above.
The applicants who have good English competence and are capable of taking English-taught courses may ask for lowering the requirement or waiver of HSK
3. Materials for Application
(1) The completed 《Application Form for Foreigner Wishing to Study at CAU》(Apply on http://apply.cau.edu.cn)
(2) Original or notarized copy of final schooling certificate and schooling records
(3) Certificate of HSK (Chinese Proficiency Test) Band -Four or above
(4) A copy of the applicant’s passport with photo page
(5) Recommendation letters from two scholars of associate professorship or higher for applicants of Senior Visiting Students Program

4. Application Procedure
The deadline for submitting the Application Form , together with other application materials to Office of International Relations, China Agricultural University, by post mail or in person. (Apply on http://apply.cau.edu.cn).
5. Application Schedule
Application for spring semester program: October 15 - December 30 (previous year)
Application for autumn semester program: March 15 - May 30 (present year)
6. Review and Examination
The application materials will be reviewed and examined by Office of International University, China Agricultural University and the Admission Committee of the department concerned.
7. Inquiry and Admission Notice
Once approved, the Admission Notice and Visa Application Form for Foreigners (JW202) will be issued in early January for spring program or early July for autumn program. Prior to this, the applicants may check for admission status via on the website of Office of International Relations.
8. Visa Application and Admission Registration
The admitted students should bring their Passport, Admission Notice, Visa Application Form for Foreigners, the Form of Physical Examination Record for Foreigners and Blood Test Record to the Embassy or Consulate of the People’s Republic of China and apply for a student visa. The students shall come to Office of International University, China Agricultural University for admission registration during the dates indicated on the Admission Notice. The X visa holders must apply for a Residence Permit within 30 days after arriving in China.
