1. Brief Introduction

This programaims to providing the international students with agricultural economic theory training and multi-level social practice, and to explore the important value of the agricultural economic theory and international experience for the formation and practice of agricultural economic policy. We strive to cultivate creative persons with sturdy foundation, wide range of knowledge and high scientific quality through studying the international agricultural economic theory and the situations of the developing countries. Whenthestudents finish the training program, they would have the research ability of analyzing agricultural economic development issues, and can provide policy consultation for developing countries to solve the problems of agriculture.

2. Application Requirements

The applicants should submit the following materials for their application:
(1) Certification of English Proficiency
The applicants should have an excellent English proficiency to be able to accomplish the study. The TOEFL score of 80 points at least, or IELTS score at least 6, or other relevant certificates of English as the working and learning language for university study. The test for Chinese is not required but encouraged.
(2) Copy of the Diploma and Score Report
The Bachelor Degree is required for the applicants to enter this Master of Management program. We will consider applicants with a background in any subject, although a first degree in economics or management and prior working experiences would be an advantage. Provide undergraduate diploma notarized copies and the score report’s transcripts or notarized copies of undergraduate courses. When the diploma is neither Chinese nor English, you should provide notarized Chinese or English translated document.
(3) Provide research and study plan in China (1500 words at least), written in Chinese or English.
(4) Provide two original (or photocopy) reference letters from different professors.

3. Degree

Aftersatisfied the Assessment Board in all requirements of the programme and will award a Master of Management in AgriculturalEconomics andManagement.

4. Curriculum Requirements

Students must get30 credits required for the degree, including at least 24 credits of course work and 6 credits of other requirements. Among the basic courses which are required to be completed within the first year,16 credits are allocated to degree courses. According to overseas students’ needs, in order to intensify Chinese education, it is proper to have more Chinese optional courses. 
Students are required to complete a minimum of24 credits from the following courses.

5. Dissertation requirement

Students are also required to conduct original research under the supervision of a faculty member. The thesis must be defended before a committee consisting of the advisor and at least two other faculty members in the department. Specific thesis research projects focus on problems of agricultural economy all over the world, especially in the developing countries and districts. Subjects on internationalcomparative studies are preferred. The research areacouldbe one of the following:

The publication ofacademic paper related to the Master study in an English academic journal (domestic or international)is required, or least one paper considered as publishable by supervisor.

6. Duration & Tuition Fee

The basic duration of Master study is 2 years. The student who can’t meet the requirements of graduation in 2 years could apply for extending the duration, but the total time shouldn’t exceed 3 years. The tuition fee is RMB 52000 for two years.
