Program Description
In order to deepen the academic friendship and mutual understanding between Chinese and foreign young generations, and to build a platform for the international exchanges and cooperation of young talents, the China Scholarship Council (CSC) has established the China Link Scholarship Program for international students and faculties hoping to engage in academic and research activities in China.
Program Scheme
1. Funding Categories
General scholar: applicable to current undergraduates or master students.
Senior scholar: applicable to current Ph. D students or faculties.
2. Duration
1-12 months. Start study in China no later than August 31, 2026.
3. Language
English or Chinese.
Valid HSK Level-4 certificate is required for the Chinese option.
Funding
Successful applicants will receive a full scholarship from CSC during their stay in China, including:
Tuition waiver, free on-campus accommodation, comprehensive medical insurance, and a monthly stipend (CNY 3,000 for general scholars; CNY 3,500 for senior scholars).
Eligibility
1. Be a citizen of a country other than the People’s Republic of China and be in good health, both mentally and physically.
2. Be under 45 years of age when applying for general scholars. Be under 50 years of age when applying for senior scholars.
3. Be registered as a full-time student or employed as a full-time academic staff at CSC’s foreign partner universities at the time of application and throughout their proposed stay in China.
4. Have received either the admission notice or the invitation letter issued by the Chinese host university.
Application Procedure
a) Applicants need to first log in to the international student application website of China Agricultural University(http://apply.cau.edu.cn), provide the required information, choose “Chinese Government Scholarships”, select your application category (general advanced student or senior advanced student) and upload the materials for submission.
b) For a scholarship from CSC, it’s mandatory to Complete the online application procedure at CGS Information Management System for International Students (Visit CSC application system: http://www.campuschina.org and click “Application Online” to log in), submit online the completed Application Form for Chinese Government Scholarship.
“Apply as”: “general scholar” for current undergraduates or postgraduates; “senior scholar” for current Ph. D candidate or faculties.

c) Submit the scanned copy of the Application Form for the Chinese Government Scholarship with your signature to China Agricultural University Application System: http://apply.cau.edu.
Application Deadline
31th May, 2025 for Visting starts during July 2025 to January 2026;
31th December, 2025 for Visting starts during February to August, 2026;
Review and Admission
The application materials will be reviewed by the International Office, CAU, relevant professors, and qualified applicants will be admitted.
Inquiry and Admission Notice
Admission results can be queried on the website of the International Office, CAU in late June every year. At the beginning of January and July each year, the China Agricultural University Admission Notice and Visa Application Form for Foreign Students in China (DQ or JW202 FORM) will be issued to the applicants respectively.
Application for Visa and Enrollment Registration
Matriculates shall go to Chinese embassy (consulate) at their location to apply for study (X) visa with their ordinary passport, Admission Notice, Visa Application Form for Foreign Students in China (Form JW202), Physical Examination Form for Foreign Nationals and Blood Test Report, before presenting the foregoing materials to the International Office, CAU for enrollment registration at the time specified in the Admission Notice.
